The 16th edition will be hosted by the Baltic countries Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania from 4 to 13 October. Design Week Budapest Festival.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Budapest Design Week is Hungary\u2019s largest design event, whose main aim is not only to raise awareness but also to encourage cooperation between designers and businesses, thereby strengthening the economic role of the Hungarian design ecosystem, the organisers recalled in their communication to MTI.
\nAccording to their information, the festival will be open to the public with a number of programmes aimed at economic recovery. For example, experts will answer the most frequently asked questions in a multi-day series of presentations specifically tailored to the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises in the creative industry.
\nCorporate decision-makers will be targeted by a series of presentations presenting good practices, during which successful Hungarian companies will introduce interested parties to the benefits of the strategic application of design, and this year they will also organise the Service Design Day program, which illustrates the relationship between strategic planning and design with examples.
\nThe main theme of this year's Design Week will be flow: Achieve a state in which designers and entrepreneurs work closely together to create a design ecosystem that is competitive on the international market.
\nThe aim of the programs related to the theme of flow is to facilitate the networking between economic decision-makers and designers and to promote the integration of designers into the entrepreneurial environment, and on the other hand, to make it possible to experience that the application of design is an experience that enriches life, makes it more beautiful and meaningful.
\nTo this end, a number of community-building events will take place during Design Week: There will also be workshops, children's programmes, social responsibility events, networking programmes, roundtable discussions and design yoga.
\nThe festival's guests of honour will be Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in 2019. The close-to-nature approach of the three states, the traditionally respectful and at the same time reforming attitude of their designers, the rapid adaptation of new technologies and innovations, as well as the digitalisation that permeates an increasing part of life have recently created such a fast-changing and highly inspiring design ecosystem in the Baltic countries that can be compared to domestic examples in several respects and provides a way of exchanging experiences. The latest Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian design results will be presented at exhibitions and workshops.
\nThe permanent program elements of Design Week Budapest will also return: the Open Studios, which give an insight into designers\u2019 workshops, the Design Tours, which showcase the city\u2019s interesting sites, the Hungarian Design Award and the Design Management Award, which were founded forty years ago this year \u2013 both awards are accompanied by an exhibition \u2013 and the platform of higher education institutions in the creative industry, the Where to Go School Fair, will also be held this time.
\nThe range of partner cities in the countryside is also expanding: Debrecen, Gy\u0151r, P\u00e9cs and Sopron are joined by Eger as new entrants in previous years.
\nBudapest Design Week is sponsored and financed by the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office and organised by the Hungarian Design Council.<\/p>\n
