The Budapest Select Concept Store of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (MDDÜ) awaits customers interested in Hungarian fashion and design products in the online space.
With the launch of the platform, the agency provides online sales opportunities to Hungarian brands in line with changing consumer habits due to the pandemic and in response to the demands expressed by domestic industry players. The purchase of the goods on offer supports domestic designers – the MDDÜ told MTI on Wednesday.
As an integrative coordination organization of the Hungarian fashion and design industry, the MDDÜ feels obliged to provide support to industry players even in difficult times, so facilitating the sales processes of companies plays an important role among its actions in the changed economic situation.
“The aim of the platform is to give a wide online visibility to fashion and design brands selected by the professional jury during the open competition. With the help of the webshop, they can reach consumers interested in their products, thereby increasing the revenue of their business", says the communiqué.
In the spring, the Agency assessed the impact of the pandemic on the sector through a questionnaire research and consultations with industry. Feedback from the industry showed that most people experienced a drop in demand as their biggest challenge, and with the change in consumer habits, there was a high demand for the creation of an online sales platform.
With the establishment of the webshop, MDDÜ will take over the burden of the digitalization development of brands, thereby mitigating the negative effects of the pandemic. The products of brands that do not have offline sales opportunities will thus be placed in the virtual space and thus reach consumers. The omnichannel sales strategy promotes digital transformation in the sector that strengthens the resilience of businesses in the long term.
In order to promote Hungarian brands internationally, the MDDÜ established the Budapest Select umbrella brand in 2018 to ensure that designers receive greater attention, recognition and success through unified communication while retaining their own image elements. The site also features a wide range of unique lamps and furniture through masks, T-shirts and coats.
In addition to raising the profile of Hungarian fashion and design brands, the platform also contributes to creating a stronger relationship between consumers and brands by learning about the personal stories of brands. The pieces are made individually, so it is worth looking around the site in time for Christmas.
With the implementation of the Budapest Select Concept Store, we would like to bring Hungarian brands to the forefront of both domestic and international audiences. Consumers who are consciously looking for Hungarian products can choose from both higher and lower priced products from a central location, said Zsófia Bata-Jakab, head of the MDDÜ.
The webshop is a https://budapestselectstore.com/ available.
