Ten young Hungarian designers will be able to present their works under the umbrella brand of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (MDDÜ) Budapest Select at the Maison&Objet trade fair in Paris, which opened on Thursday, MDDÜ informed MTI.
According to the agency's announcement, the designers selected by the professional jury will give a unique taste of the novelties and ceramics of the Hungarian design in the furniture industry, interior design and lighting technology in the Signature Hall.
The pieces of ten Hungarian designers, five of which were made during the LAB program of MDDÜ design, will be presented at the Budapest Select stand. This year’s stand is functionally separating the space with imaginative space separating solutions, thus further highlighting, highlighting and letting special design items take precedence, the communication reads.
The booth includes a dedicated virtual corner where visitors can get a glimpse of the digital spaces of the five international award-winning 360 Design Budapest exhibition with the help of external VR glasses. Next to the Budapest Select booth and at the same time as the trade fair, the series-matched works of the seven designer-manufacturers participating in MDDÜ’s first design LAB incubation programme will be presented at one of Paris Design Week’s official locations, the Valorisation de l’Innovation dans l’Ameublement (VIA) and the Le French Design Galerie, the French Design Institute.
The Maison&Objet international design fair, which is the central event of Paris Design Week and one of the three most important interior design events in Europe, will be held this year until 13 September. The five-day event attracts nearly 100,000 people a year, mostly resellers, manufacturers and distributors who come specifically to discover new brands.
“Maison&Objet is an excellent opportunity for Hungarian designers to attract the interest of foreign customers and thus establish their entry into the international market”, quotes Zsófia Bata-Jakab, CEO of MDDÜ, who says that this year’s exhibition is a particularly important opportunity for the agency, as Hungarian talents can present themselves to the international profession again after a long time, thus gaining valuable connections that they can even build on later.
As Zsófia Bata-Jakab emphasizes, the event opens up new perspectives for the participating designers, thanks to which they can not only experience positive changes in their reputation, but also increase their export revenues. “Our agency also supports these processes with an on-site sales representative”, emphasizes the CEO of MDDÜ.
This autumn, MDDÜ will focus on fashion and design, inspiration and creativity as part of the Fashion & Design Autumn event series. Those interested in the creative industry can get to know Hungarian, V4 and international fashion and design designers, as well as creative thinkers and experts.
