The Veszprém Spring Exhibition presents the works of almost a hundred contemporary artists, which opens on Saturday in Veszprém Castle. The exhibition, which can be visited until the end of April, reflects on the events of the 2023 European Capital of Culture programme – the Deputy Director of the House of Arts Veszprém told MTI on Monday.
Szonja Dohnál said that they invited artists from the region, whose works will be displayed in the Dubniczay Palace and the Csikász Gallery. Among the exhibited works will be works made with digital technology, glass, textiles, ceramics, paintings and graphics. As in previous years, the award ceremony will be held after the opening ceremony.
He added: Two thousand twenty-three opens in Dubniczay Palace on Friday. The exhibition entitled Best of presents the relationship between neo-avant-garde, contemporary art and the region's art tradition and design.
He recalled: from 2022, the Veszprém Spring Exhibition will be held at the Dubniczay Palace in a biennial system, i.e. every even-numbered year. It is a novelty that the thematic exhibition related to the Spring Exhibition will also be opened in the Csikász Gallery. For the first time in 2022, the audience could see works by Dalma Korényi and Győző Somogyi. Until the end of February this year, the visitors could see Edit Lugossy and László Lugossy's exhibition entitled MEMORY-PICTURES.
The Veszprém Spring Exhibition will be open until 28 April.
