MOME announces the creative competition Going to the future again

You can apply for the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) Idea Competition entitled Going to the Future from 27 January. They are waiting for the plans and ideas of 7-10th grade students, in which they show how they imagine the future, what they think the world will be like in 20 years’ time, the higher education institution said in a statement sent to MTI on Friday.

The aim of MOME's initiative is to show that design is a way of thinking that anyone can master and shape the future. The Going to the Future creative competition is looking for answers to questions such as what life will be like in 2043; and how today's youngsters imagine the world in 20 years' time. The competition encourages domestic and cross-border teenagers to share their ideas about the future.
400 students applied in 2022. Last year, the design of a solar cell mushroom, a beetle picking robot and an inclusive board game won, and the entries submitted for the competition far exceeded the preliminary expectations of the jury and the organisers.
As they put it, the competition offers a unique opportunity not only for teamwork, but also for getting to know design thinking. You can apply for the competition in teams of 2-5 people, and the teams in the second round are accompanied as mentors by teachers at the university during several months of intensive preparatory work. The best entries will be selected by a jury of prestigious experts at the end of the second round. In addition to the main prize, the MakerBot Sketch 3D printer, prize winners will also receive valuable prizes.
Applicants may submit designs prepared using analogue, digital or mixed techniques. Teams registered for the competition will be able to take part in a preparatory programme, where they will be assisted in the preparation of the entries – read the summary.
