International Design Conference in Budapest

Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) is organizing an international design conference entitled P/References Of Design between 15 and 17 May in Budapest.

The participants of the conference will examine, among other things, the relationship between data, economy, well-being, coexistence and design in plenary and section meetings, with exhibitions and presentations, the university told MTI on Tuesday.
The nine topics of the conference provide an opportunity to address the different aspects of strategic planning, system thinking, community planning, human and machine creativity, and more-than-human design.
The professional programme includes about 140 lectures, complemented by almost forty workshops and several working group meetings. Cultural events, gastronomic and community building programs are also waiting for the visitors of the conference.
MOME won the right to be the organizer and host of the Cumulus conference in Budapest in May this year.
The Cumulus World Organization brings together 357 institutions from 66 countries and numerous universities and knowledge centres, making it the most important professional network in the academic field. The members of the organization can take part in several major conferences each year, they can share their knowledge and research results at shortage-filling professional events and working groups.
Two major conferences are organised each year, with Budapest hosting the summit in 2024. In previous years, conferences were held in Antwerp, Detroit, Beijing, St. Petersburg and Rome, among others.
Among others, Robin Schuldenfrei is a researcher in the history of modern architecture and a Fellow at the Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London; Vladan Joler is Professor of New Media at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and co-founder of SHARE Lab; and Eric Zimmerman, game designer and professor at NYU Game Center.

As a traditional host, MOME also has the opportunity to present its professional objectives and the most important achievements of recent years to the representatives of the partner institutions and the international representatives of the profession.
