Applications for the "Fashion Industry Discovery of the Year" competition are open until 2 June, and the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (MDDÜ) is waiting for the entry of full-time students in creative and fashion industry vocational training.

According to Thursday's announcement of the MDDÜ, applications are expected from those who have created something new with their creations, works, hobbies, talents or community engagement. In addition to the Fashion Industry Discovery of the Year title, the winner selected by the jury will also win a high-value sewing machine equipped with state-of-the-art technology, will be invited to the next Budapest Central European Fashion Week, and will represent the profession together with vloger Tamás Trunk as Fashion Industry Student Ambassador of the Year during prestige-enhancing campaigns.
In addition to completing the entry form, applicants can further increase their chances by creating a creative, demonstrative video of up to 10 minutes, in which their innovative, innovative approach will also play a role. Further details of the application are available on the website of the MDDÜ and Startup Campus InnoGEN program. The MDDÜ participates as a professional jury in the selection of the Discoverer of the Year.
The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency pays special attention to increasing the prestige of creative industry jobs, including textile and clothing vocational training, among the younger age group. In this spirit, MDDÜ joins the Startup Campus InnoGEN Youth Programme as a professional partner, focusing on nurturing young people's talents, inspiring future generations and developing their creativity.
The aim of the program is to inspire talented 14-21-year-old Hungarian young people with a startup and innovation entrepreneurial culture, and to encourage them to launch and develop their own projects to support the creation of the future generation of R&D and innovative entrepreneurs.
“At the MDDÜ, our priority is for the Hungarian fashion industry to play a recognised role in the region, but this requires a stable foundation that starts with vocational training”, recalls CEO Zsófia Bata-Jakab.
In 2020, the Fashion Industry Vocational Training Development Support Programme was launched with outstanding results, but this year the agency started new cooperations in order to increase its effectiveness. “During the programmes, students can get a complete picture of the functioning of the market, thus making occupations such as tailoring, sewing or shoe uppers attractive again, thus Hungary can become a leading player in the field of fashion and clothing industry expertise in Central Europe”, stressed the CEO.
