The two-stage mentoring program supports Hungarian, emerging and ready-to-market designers, and the training helps the mentored with the involvement of domestic and international experts to acquire entrepreneurial knowledge and improve their processes - the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (MDDÜ) told MTI on Wednesday.

For the third year in a row, the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency has been providing professional support for strengthening in the domestic market and conquering international markets as part of mentoring programs. To date, the programmes have contributed to the development of twelve emerging brands and eleven ready-to-market brands, with the participation of ten more renowned designers this year.
For emerging brands, the design START program provides domestic stability and international inspiration for domestic market development, while enterprises can acquire the business knowledge necessary for international market entry, sales and brand positioning as part of the design SPEED project.
The goal of the design START mentoring program is to promote the professional and business success of emerging Hungarian design brands and to create their stability in Hungary. The three-stage training starts with a series of six-module workshops where mentors can learn from renowned industry professionals. Afterwards, each designer completes an internship at the domestic manufacturer of his choice, and as part of an international study tour, they can get an insight into the work of French manufacturers and visit the Maison&Objet interior design trade fair. The third mentoring programme involves five brands (Márta Edőcs, KOMOK, OBAI, Vándor Studio and VERBA Home Design), as recalled by the Communiqué.
The agency's design SPEED mentoring program, launched jointly with the Italian Istituto Europeo di Design (IED), is aimed at stable Hungarian designers who are ready to enter the foreign market and who are committed to further developing their company. During the training, the designers will present their project work at the IED headquarters in Milan. The mentoring programme gives the five brands selected by the professional jury (HANNABI, IO, LumoConcept, Magnelit and Project BRUT) the opportunity to enter the international market, learning the communication, project management, branding and commercial techniques and practices of international trends.
