For the first time MOME Aurum Futuri Awards were presented

For the first time, the Aurum Futuri awards of excellence were awarded to teachers and researchers from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME), MOME informed MTI on Saturday.

For the first time, Fanni Csernátony, senior lecturer and Bori Fehér, senior research fellow, head of the Social Design Hub at MOME Innovation Centre, received the award.
The Aurum Futuri awards of excellence were co-created by the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Foundation and the university. The award, to which the staff and students of the institution were able to nominate candidates, will be given to the best teachers and researchers of MOME, and the name of the award will refer to the future-shaping activities and values of teachers and researchers, the ‘gold of the future’, the institution said.
The award was first awarded to two professionals who have done a lot to introduce modern international design methodologies to Hungarian higher education students, to create new, innovative forms of training, and to effectively improve the quality of life of children and residents of disadvantaged settlements with the tools of design.
The briefing quotes Gergely Böszörményi-Nagy, president of the Foundation for Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, who says that the everyday success of a university depends on the work and performance of its teachers and researchers. “Our goals and international ambitions can only be achieved through their appreciation. As part of the MOME model change, we first decided on the biggest salary increase in the history of the university, and with the Aurum Futuri awards, we recognise and exemplify the best ones", stressed the president of the foundation.
Fanni Csernátony DLA assistant professor teaches, researches and develops design methodologies in addition to service design. The awardee has played a prominent role in the creation of several innovative training programmes. He has been involved in the creation of mindset-changing works such as the Handbook DesignThinking in School, and as a researcher he focuses on participatory methods involving stakeholders.
Bori Fehér, senior research fellow at MOMÉ, has been engaged in social design and architectural research over the past nearly one and a half decades, focusing primarily on the development of disadvantaged communities, and one of the most recent of his many exemplary research projects is the ‘Presence Mezői’ project carried out jointly with the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service.
